Victoria Falls is one of the Senven Natural Wonders of the world. It is the largest waterfall in the world. It is 1.7 kilometers wide and 108 meters high. Victoria Falls is located on the border between Zambia and Zinbabwe, and travelers can access the fall through either Livingstone, Zambia or Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. The Zambezi River, which orignates in northern Zambia, servers as the falls’s water source. Victoria Falls was discovered by the Scottist explorer Dr. David Livingstone in 1855. He named the falls after Queen Victoria. The locals calles the falls Mosi-oa-Tunya meaning “the smoke that thunders”. Long before you even see the waterfalls you can hear the roaring of the water! The months of June and July are probaly the best time to view the falls. The water levels are still high enough to showcase the splendor of the falls, but the mount of water is less creating less spray and more visibility of the falls.
