My parents had a big house in the country when I was young, and they needed all the space. Both of my grandfathers and one grandmother lived with us, as well as one of my aunts and her two children. I have some wonderful childhood memories. We used to have a great time together, but it was very noisy all the time and my brothers often used to fight with our cousins.

I used to live a long way from the nearest city. I went to school in the morning, but in the afternoon, I used to go out into the fields and make sure the animals had food and water. Sometimes, I would have to move the cows to another field or find some of the sheep who were missing. But I didn't use to do that all year round. When the school was closed, I would always go and stay at my grandparents' house in the city.

My parents got divorced when I was quite young, and my father left the house, so my mother had to do everything. I did a lot of the cleaning and housework, and I used to look after the younger children in the family. I had to, because my mother became the breadwinner. She used to make beautiful things from clay every day, and I took them to town on the weekends and sold them on a stall.
