Nguyen Thi Anh Vien (born November 9, 1996 in Ba Cau Hamlet, Giai Xuan Commune, Phong Dien District, Can Tho City) is a female athlete of the Vietnamese national swimming team. When 19 years old, she won 8 gold medals, 1 silver medal, 1 bronze medal for Vietnam and broke 8 records and was recognized as the best non-Singapore athlete at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games. [1] [2] [3], with 8 gold medals won, Anh Vien won the 2nd gold medal after male swimmer Joseph Schooling of Singapore at Seagame 28. She is still standing. the 25th world of women's 400m freestyle and the ninth world of 400m mixed content. [4] In 2015, she was the youngest army captain in Vietnam and was awarded the Second-Class Labor Medal. [3]
She is also the only athlete of Vietnam, since the integration in 1993, to be a key investor. Her 6-year long training course in Florida, USA, the No. 1 powerhouse in swimming, costed nearly VND 7 billion. [5]
