I am a hodophile, which means I am really into traveling. Thus, I have been to hundreds of places, among which I remember a time when I went to Ha Long bay with my friends the most.
It was 6 years ago when I had just graduated from University, so my friends and I decided to go on a short trip to celebrate our graduation. It was a long discussion, and we came up with an idea of going to Ha Long bay, the natural wonder of the world. This place is located in Quang Ninh province in the Northern part of Vietnam. Therefore, to get there from Ho Chi Minh City, we had to fly to Hanoi first before taking a 3-hour bus to this destination. We were so eager and worried at the same time, so we had made tons of preparations in advance including booking tours and hotels. Hence, we got everything covered with a taxi to pick us up at the bus station and hotel rooms already cleaned and ready.
Our trip was going so well, and we enjoyed every moment of it. To be more specific, following the tour guide, we had a chance to visit some stunning islands with mysterious natural caves lying deep inside. To be frank, the feeling of going around by boat and ships was scary at first, but after getting a hang of it, I started to like it. When it comes to foods, it was so great that we were presented with various types of sea foods such as sea urchins or jellyfish. They were palatable and made us ask for more. On top of that, as for the activities that we loved the most, they were adventurous sports here like canoeing, wind-surfing and rock climbing. They were all thrilling and stimulating, so we could never forget the combination of being so scared and simultaneously excited.
After the trip, we went back home but the feelings about it still lingered. If I have a chance, I will definitely come to Ha Long Bay once again to try out new things that I missed 6 years ago.
