Nations around the world are battling with a major outbreak of a new deadly virus. The Coronavirus, which started in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019, has already killed around 4,000 people from around the world. Countries affected include China, the US, Brazil, Russian Federation, the UK, Italy and many more. It has now spread to over 210 countries and territories. There have been more than 7 million confirmed cases of Covid-19 as of beginning of June 2020. The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared that this is a global health emergency. In a lot of countries, schools have been closed and people have been told not to travel. Scientists say the virus is contagious and can be passed from person to person through the air. A lot of symptoms are similar to the flu. Patients may have dry and itchy cough, fever, lots of sneezing and even hard to breathe. Although it is fearful, here are some things you can do to protect yourself, family and friends from getting sick: wash hands well using soap and water, sneeze into your elbows, avoid touching your face, use face masks when needed, stay home when you are asked to, strengthen your health and so on.
