hese are hard times: (1) employment is growing and it is particularly high amongst young people. Economic (2) growth is slowing down, so it's getting more and more difficult to find a job. People often reach their thirtieth birthday without ever having had a regular job and this can lead to depression or lack of (3) self-confidence. But there are strategies which can help you cope. I have found the SWOT test really useful. It's a planning method that is often used in (4) management training but I've found it helpful in problem-solving generally. All you need is a piece of paper, a pencil and a little (5) patience! First of all, the 'S': make a list of your (6) strengths - you’ve probably got more of these than you realise. They may include, for example, your qualifications, creativity or (7) open-mindedness. Then make a second list with your (8) weaknesses - for example, lack of experience or (9) reluctance to accept new ideas. Then, the 'O': think of all the opportunities for finding work, for example job (10) advertising and social networking sites. Finally, the 'T' in SWOT: threats; for example, competition. Good luck!
The (1) **conception** of 'rhetoric', or effective public speaking, dates back thousands of years. The underlying (2) **assumption** behind rhetoric is that how you present an argument can greatly influence whether people are persuaded by you or not. There is (3) **considerable** (4) **quantity** of evidence to support this idea - it’s practically (4) **thinkable**!
