B. Present Perfect (Continuous) Tense and Past Simple Tense

1. Eight years ago, we started writing to each other. → We have been writing to each other for eight years.

   • Giải thích: Ta sử dụng thì hiện tại hoàn thành tiếp diễn để diễn tả một hành động bắt đầu trong quá khứ và vẫn tiếp diễn đến hiện tại.

2. My father hasn't smoked cigarettes for a month. → It's a month since my father last smoked cigarettes.

   • Giải thích: Câu này diễn tả một khoảng thời gian kể từ lần cuối cùng ai đó làm gì.

3. Mr. Brown bought this car five years ago. → Mr. Brown has had this car for five years.

   • Giải thích: Ta sử dụng thì hiện tại hoàn thành để diễn tả một hành động xảy ra trong quá khứ và kết quả của hành động đó còn kéo dài đến hiện tại.

4. I haven't enjoyed myself so much for years. → It's years since I last enjoyed myself so much.

   • Giải thích: Tương tự câu 2.

5. It's a long time since we last went to the cinema. → We haven't been to the cinema for a long time.

   • Giải thích: Ta sử dụng thì hiện tại hoàn thành tiếp diễn để diễn tả một hành động không xảy ra trong một khoảng thời gian dài.

DẠNG 02: Passive voice with verb tenses

1. Has anyone ever asked you to do the heavy lifting? → Have you ever been asked to do the heavy lifting?

   • Giải thích: Chuyển câu chủ động sang bị động, dùng thì hiện tại hoàn thành.

2. Is he going to tell stories to the children when you cook meals? → Are stories going to be told to the children by him when you cook meals?

   • Giải thích: Chuyển câu chủ động sang bị động, dùng thì tương lai gần.

3. By this time tomorrow, the principle will have made the announcement. → By this time tomorrow, the announcement will have been made by the principle.

   • Giải thích: Chuyển câu chủ động sang bị động, dùng thì tương lai hoàn thành.
