The Amur leopard (*Panthera pardus orientalis*) is an endangered big cat that primarily inhabits the temperate forests of the Russian Far East and northeastern China. Known for its striking golden coat adorned with rosettes and spots, this elusive leopard has a long, slender body and is equipped with strong limbs and a long tail that aids in balance. Amur leopards are carnivorous and typically prey on various animals such as roe deer, sika deer, and hares. In the wild, they can live up to 10 to 15 years, while some individuals may survive longer in captivity. Unfortunately, the Amur leopard is critically endangered due to habitat loss from deforestation, poaching, and a decrease in prey availability, making conservation efforts essential for its survival.
