* Dùng nguyên thể (join) sau "recommend that".
* I'd rather not repeat what I've just said.
* Dùng nguyên thể (not + V) sau "would rather".
* We wish people didn't cut the trees anymore. They make the air cleaner.
* Dùng quá khứ đơn phủ định (didn't + V) trong câu ước.
* It's time for your children to tidy their bedrooms.
* Dùng động từ nguyên thể có "to" sau "It's time for".
* Tina wishes she hadn't eaten too much ice-cream. She has got a terrible stomachache.
* Dùng quá khứ hoàn thành phủ định (hadn't + VpII) trong câu ước.
* Jose wishes she had an mp3 player. She can listen to music now.
* Dùng quá khứ đơn (had) trong câu ước.
* I'd rather not spend my holidays in Italy last year.
* Dùng quá khứ đơn phủ định (didn't + V) sau "would rather".
* If only I knew more about cooking. I have to prepare something special for my grandparents.
* Dùng quá khứ đơn (knew) trong câu điều kiện loại 2.
* The teacher insists that her students finish the projects on time.
* Dùng nguyên thể (finish) sau "insist that".
* If only they won the match next Sunday. They will be this year's champion then.
* Dùng quá khứ đơn (won) trong câu điều kiện loại 2.
* The students wish they had studied more. They all got bad marks from the physics exam.
* Dùng quá khứ hoàn thành (had + VpII) trong câu ước.
* It's important that the kid remember to take his medicine twice a day.
* Dùng nguyên thể (remember) sau "It's important that".
* I would rather stay at home; it's too late.
* Dùng nguyên thể (stay) sau "would rather".
* She described it as if she had seen it all with her own eyes. But she was sleeping at that time.
* Dùng quá khứ hoàn thành (had + VpII) trong cấu trúc "as if".
* It's high time we went home. It's too late.
* Dùng quá khứ đơn (went) sau "It's high time".
