OXFORD UNIVERSITY

Oxford University, which is 80 kilometres from London, is one of the oldest universities in the world. It was established in the middle of the 12th century and has been an important centre of study ever since. The university is not one building, but consists of many different colleges. Many of these colleges are very old and beautiful, and are famous for their "quads" - areas of grass and trees around which the colleges are built.
