Bài tập này yêu cầu chúng ta chia động từ trong ngoặc ở thì quá khứ đơn. Dựa vào ngữ cảnh của câu, ta có:

• When I was in Canada, I (go) skiing almost every day.

  • Dịch: Khi tôi ở Canada, tôi đi trượt tuyết hầu như mỗi ngày.
  • Chia động từ: went

• When you (meet) him? - 3 years ago.

  • Dịch: Bạn gặp anh ấy khi nào? - 3 năm trước.
  • Chia động từ: met

• My uncle (live) in Berlin in 2000.

  • Dịch: Chú tôi sống ở Berlin vào năm 2000.
  • Chia động từ: lived

• We (not see) Nick at Mike's house yesterday morning.

  • Dịch: Chúng tôi không thấy Nick ở nhà Mike sáng hôm qua.
  • Chia động từ: didn't see

Bài tập này yêu cầu chúng ta điền dạng đúng của từ trong ngoặc để hoàn thành câu.

• We have just seen an interesting film. (interesting: thú vị)
• George looks unhappy because he has a bad mark. (unhappy: buồn bã)
• Does he enjoy collecting stamps? (collecting: sưu tầm)
• Many people have no home to stay in. (homeless: vô gia cư)
• He is a volunteer because he is willing to help other people without pay. (pay: trả tiền)
• My idol is a famous actor in the world. (actor: diễn viên)
• Be careful! The dishes are going to fall. (careful: cẩn thận)
• Disabled people find it difficult to have a job. (disabled: khuyết tật)

Bài tập này yêu cầu chúng ta tìm và sửa lỗi sai trong câu.

• I didn't done any volunteer work last year. → I didn't do any volunteer work last year. (Sửa "done" thành "do")
• Matha is a great cooker and she often cooks dinner for homeless people. (Không có lỗi sai)
• She donates a lot of money for local charities 2 years ago. → She donated a lot of money for local charities 2 years ago. (Sửa "donates" thành "donated")
• Before donate a book, make sure that it is in good condition. → Before donating a book, make sure that it is in good condition. (Sửa "donate" thành "donating")
• We should encourage people recycle glass, cans, plastic and paper. → We should encourage people to recycle glass, cans, plastic and paper. (Thêm "to" trước "recycle")
• Did you lived in Vancouver when you were young? → Did you live in Vancouver when you were young? (Sửa "lived" thành "live")
